Intensive Retreats at Fourth Dimension Healing Ranch in Maple Valley

Fourth Dimension Counseling & Coaching is now offering five-day intensives in Maple Valley, Washington for betrayed partners, men impacted sexual compulsivity and couples impacted by sexual betrayal trauma.
These intensives have been designed by Heidi Kinsella, LMHC, SUDP, CSAT-S, CPTT-S, CMAT, CCPS, EAMHP Amy Sohler, MA, LMHC, SUDP, CSAT who worked at Gentle Path at the Meadows and Darren Barry, BA, MA – Candidate, SUDP, CSAT-C.
These intensives are set in a rural setting and designed for clients to interact with each other, nature and horses and offer many experiential therapeutic opportunities.

- Lunch, dinner and snacks included daily

- Monday 9 am to 3 pm
Space is limited to 8-12 individuals per intensive, depending on the intensive. Customized intensives can be arranged. If you are a CSAT, CPTT or CCPS who has a group of clients who would like to do this together, let us know. We are open to having you co-facilitate the weekend.
We can also customize retreats for clients, so if you have a group of peers or recovery friends who would like to go through this experience with, let us know.

Partner Sexual Betrayal Intensive Retreat
May 18th - 22nd, 2023
This intensive retreat will feature Carol Juergensen Sheets’ book, Unleashing Your Power: Moving Through the Trauma of Partner Betrayal, to life. This intensive will take you through the three phases of betrayal trauma treatment: Safety and stabilization, working through anger, grief and mourning and restoration of self with posttraumatic growth.
Some highlights of the weekend will include:
Developing your personal identity beyond partner betrayal.
Psychoeducation on addiction, boundaries, creating safety, self-esteem, managing triggers, anger & grief, check ins, feelings, meditation, conflict, assertive communication, accountability, self-care, changing your internal dialog, listening to your gut, trust, and personal strengths.
Experiential activities include: Equine-assisted therapy; group work expressing grief and anger; vision board and trauma egg creation; sharing your story at the firepit while eating smores; sound bath; prayer and meditation workshop; mindfulness walks to see the goats, sit and watch the Koi fish or just walking on country roads and trails.

This intensive retreat has been designed for couples who have been impacted by sexual betrayal trauma and have already gone through the reconciliation letter writing process of disclosure, emotional impact letter and restitution (clarification) letter.
This intensive retreat is being designed by Heidi Kinsella, LMHC, SUDP, CSAT-S, CPTT-S, CMAT, CCPS, EAMHP and will bring Carol Juergensen Sheets, LCSW, CSAT, CCPS-S, PCC, book, Help.Them.Heal, to life.
The goal of this intensive retreat is to create trust and empathy for couples to heal from sexual betrayal trauma.
Psychoeducation on betrayal trauma impact on the brain; addiction; the prerequisites of safety; the three phases of healing for couples including safety, remembering and mourning and reconnecting; empathy; 10 recovery tools; her needs; shame cycle; understanding trauma; the antidote to betrayal is safe connection; feelings; the six basic needs; communication types; healthy communication tools; conflict in healthy relationships breeds intimacy; triggers; trigger busters and using AVR (Acknowledge, Validate and Reaffirm); cognitive distortions; reflective listening; check-ins; the relational outer circle; integrate empathy with healthy behaviors for the couple; relational skills to acknowledge grief and anger; trust building; post traumatic growth of the couple; the process of forgiveness; intimacy

Are you struggling staying sober?
This intensive takes you back to the basics and is a deep dive into the different life circumstances, and common sources of stress and distress that negatively impact sexual sobriety. We will help you look at your sobriety challenges, and other health or mental health issues that might be interfering with your definition of quality of life and ability to recognize the signs that you have been veering off course. We will support you to adopt more effective and proven tools that can help you be more intentional and mindful in your daily recovery behaviors. We will work together to take a rigorously honest look at your current overall recovery plan, what is working well, what isn’t working and needs some overhauling w/ support and feedback from peers and therapists.
This intensive workshop is being designed and facilitated by Heidi Kinsella, LMHC, SUDP, CSAT-S, CPTT-S, CMAT, CCPS, EAMHP and Darren Barry, BA, MA – Candidate, SUDP, CSAT-C. Heidi and Darren have extensive experience in both the sex addiction and substance use fields and will combine their knowledge of the two fields to create a relapse prevention plan that is fresh and unique. We will also utilize material from Terry Gorski’s work in relapse prevention in substance use.
We will review and revitalize your task work, and add tasks that will help you to develop a recovery plan that is tailored for your particular life circumstances, and that has a high degree of functionality and efficacy where “the rubber meets the road” in your day to day life.

As part of this intensive workshop, we will help clients identify where they have been giving their addict minds’ permission to engage in behavior that leads to relapse. We will look at addiction interaction and will help them identify other areas of their lives where they may be engaging in other addictive behaviors. We will take a look at other missed diagnoses that may be impacting their sobriety such as anxiety, depression or other mental health issues.
Clients will take a fresh look at their Secrets List, Rationalizations, Ten Worse Moments List, Recovery Circles, Personal Craziness Index, Relapse Scenarios and well as exercise from Terri Gorski’s “Staying Sober.”
Above all, we will help clients learn to live life on life’s terms and create a recovery plan that is useful. The goal is to establish a plan that they will follow through with in order to maintain long-term sobriety.
This intensive workshop will be held in a nature setting and will include Relapse Prevention, Group Work, Equine Assisted Therapy, Art Therapy, Mindfulness Meditation, Therapy at the and time set aside to enjoy the nature setting.
Customized individual add-ons available upon request, including EMDR.

This men’s intensive will focus on early recovery and will take clients through the first Seven Tasks of Dr. Patrick Carnes’ 30 Task Model. Kick-off your recovery at an intensive retreat with other men who are starting their recovery journeys. In the world of zoom and telehealth therapy, group, and 12-Step meetings, this is an opportunity to learn basic recovery skills with other men in person.
This intensive is being designed by Heidi Kinsella, LMHC, SUDP, CSAT-S, CPTT-S, CMAT, CCPS, EAMHP and Amy Sohler, MA, LMHC, SUDP, CSAT who both worked at Gentle Path at the Meadows, as well as Darren Barry, BA, MA – Candidate, SUDP, CSAT-C.
