Karen Cooper has a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Seattle Pacific University. She is a Washington State Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in working with people who have been affected by sex addiction, substance use disorders, trauma (including combat trauma, medical trauma, first responder trauma) and co-occurring mental health issues like depression and anxiety. She is certified as an EMDR Level II clinician. She has additional training in Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention and other mindfulness practices. She is a registered Substance Use Disorder Professional in the state of Washington as well as a Washington State-approved clinical supervisor. She has worked in the field for over twenty years including private sex addiction practice, treatment centers, inpatient psychiatry and emergency rooms, and outpatient substance use disorder treatment.
Karen has been fully trained and certified as a sex addiction therapist through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals in 2015. She has worked with thought leaders in the field of sex addiction such as Rob Weiss, Phd, LCSW, CSAT-S. Karen enjoys working with addicts utilizing the trauma focused task based model in the CSAT training. She has facilitated men’s sex addiction recovery groups, and worked with shared clients with Heidi Kinsella in a private sex addiction practice. Karen is currently undergoing CSAT recertification.
Karen has been in recovery since 2012 and understands the sometimes complex road in recovery for those individuals who experience substance use disorders, sex and love addiction, trauma, and mood and anxiety disorders like PTSD. She believes the path of wellness involves addressing all of the issues that get in the way of a wholly lived life with quality sobriety. Sometimes there is past trauma that has not been dealt with, and becomes a trigger for use of substances or sexually compulsive behaviors. Other times, individuals have undertreated mood and anxiety disorders that can also trigger these destructive behaviors. Kyle is a dedicated clinical therapist at Fourth Dimension Counseling & Coaching. He holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is licensed to practice in Washington State. Specializing in Trauma-Informed Systemic Therapy, Kyle has the skills and expertise to work with you whether you need individual, couples, or family therapy.

As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) Candidate, Kyle has significant experience working with individuals experiencing sex addiction/compulsivity and facilitating couple reconciliation related to addiction and betrayal. He receives ongoing training from the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP) and supervision and mentorship from Heidi Kinsella. Specializing in Trauma-Informed Systemic Therapy, Kyle utilizes a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy lens to inform his practice. He remains integrative in offering personalized care that promotes healing and growth specific to each client. While studying at Eastern Washington University, Kyle graduated with a bachelor’s in social & behavioral sciences with a double minor in psychology and communications. He also holds honors in Psychology (PsiChi) and Marriage and Family Therapy (Delta Kappa).
His clinical focus includes generalized trauma, spiritual/religious trauma, and pornography/sex addiction and beyond.

Ian Lawson M.D, M.A, CSAT, LMHCA is a physician with an MA in clinical mental health counseling. He provides care to individuals struggling with trauma, family of origin issues, substance use disorder and other addictions. He also specializes in compulsive sexual behavior and pornography. He has an interest in helping professionals in their personal and professional struggles with addictions, burnout, imposter syndrome and depersonalization.
He has been trained as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). He uses the trauma-based approach to addiction and sexually compulsive behavior and pornography developed by Dr. Patrick Carnes. He has an interest in assisting individual and group clients recovering from addictive sexual behavior Towards the end of a long career in medicine he made a decision to provide care in a more personal and empathic manner as a counselor.
Using a biopsychospiritual approach he believes in creating a pathway to health, healing and recovery.
Ian has experienced personal recovery since 2019 and understands the difficulty and complexity of traveling the difficult path to achieving a life of integrity and authenticity. He has a deep understanding of how to help with navigating this journey of healing and renewal. Rainne is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working in the Psychology field providing counseling, life coaching, case management, and therapy since 2003. Rainne did her undergraduate studies in Colorado at Regis University and double majored in Sociology and Criminal Justice with a Bachelor of Arts. Rainne received her two master’s degrees from Pacifica Graduate Institute; one in Counseling Psychology and the other in Depth and Somatic Psychology. She was trained as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Skinner. Rainne utilizes a variety of methodologies including Jungian, art therapy, dance movement therapy, imaginal, family systems, attachment/trauma-focused, archetypal, EMDR, and DBT.

Justin has been working with youth and families for over 20 years. He did his graduate work at Northwest University and has been working as a private practice licensed therapist for over 10 years. He is certified as an Associate Sex Addiction Therapist (ASAT) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals and is supervised and trained by Heidi Kinsella. He currently runs two men’s sex addiction groups for Fourth Dimension.
Darren is experienced and holds a license in Washington to work with individuals impacted by substance abuse. Darren holds an Associate of Arts degree in Addiction Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Health Counseling and Counseling Practices at Antioch University. Darren is currently in Antioch’s Master’s program and pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health.
Darren has expert knowledge of the disease of addiction and brings more than 19 years of recovery experience along with his professional experience. Helping clients and their families navigate through substance abuse. He has worked with adolescents, young adults, adults, and people from all life situations for several years.
He has a passion for helping people navigate positive life changes and removing blocks to growth. Darren has been working in substance abuse for 11 years and was Clinical Director/Supervisor at two different co-occurring facilities helping build from the ground up. He has volunteered with missions and recovery cafes for many years to help the homeless population and has added EFT levels 1 and 2 to his skill set to help clients change their stress levels, which allows the body to function and move past the blocks caused by anxiety.

As a Certified Personal and Professional Recovery Coach (CPRC), Jeff helps clients work through difficult situations by focusing on positive life changes and refocusing negative stumbling blocks in their personal growth journeys. Areas of growth examples can include fostering gratitude and joy, growing awareness of emotions and spirituality, accepting responsibility, accountability and forgiveness. As a CPRC, Jeff will help provide the Positive Answer to 1) Preventing the Losses of Substance Use Disorders ahead of time, 2) Enhancing the Experience of Recovery for people on their journey to wellness, and 3) Helping Clients Reconnect to their own inner capacity, resilience and sense of wellbeing.
Jeff is also a Certified Life Skills and Recovery coach. He focuses on supporting men whose lives have been impacted by substance abuse, pornography addiction, and sex and/or love addiction. He approaches each client with a collaborative attitude and a willingness to support and guide them as they learn to focus on the strength and wisdom that they have within themselves to establish healthy choices and patterns for their lives.
Jeff is currently in training with American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy (AASAT) in their Sexual Recovery Coach (SRC) program and is mentored by Heidi Kinsella on the incorporation of these skills into his Recovery Coaching. The AASAT training offers unique methodologies and treatment modalities for treating sexual addiction. The SRC curriculum helps coaches understand sex addiction better from a clinical perspective which gives them and their clients insight into addictive cycles of behavior.

Thom draws upon his training as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate (CSAT-C) through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals coupled with his training as an Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples developed by Sue Johnson. He also uses his specialized training in Emotional Intelligence to help couples connect. Thom’s passion is to help couples achieve healthy intimate relationships by providing a safe environment to grow, heal and learn more about themselves and their relationship at a more profound level.
Thom is experienced and trained in serving others through their struggles with their personal life, developmental growth, and relationships. Through his experiences and endurance Thom has become a counselor and coach who provides useful and practical knowledge and know how to his clients. Charissa is a Master Level Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Degree in Psychology from The Seattle School of Psychology and Theology. She is licensed in Washington, Arizona and Florida.
Her focus as a therapist is in trauma specializing in the body-mind connection ranging from medical trauma, disordered eating, body image, eating disorders, sexual, emotional and physical abuse and chronic health issues. She is a certified yoga instructor and incorporates that understanding into the therapeutic lens. She is trained in Post Induction Therapy created by Pia Mellody and used at the Meadows for Codependency and Addiction, Somatic Experiencing used by Peter Levine and currently Certified Sex Addiction Training through IITAP as a CSAT Candidate. Her hope is to bring a full understanding of the trauma cycle each of us uniquely face through our own family dynamics and history.
Another interest that has shaped her therapy is her love for culture and art. She attended Biola University where she received an undergraduate degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design. Heidi is a Meadows-trained therapist and completed Post-Induction Training (PIT) and Attachment Focused EMDR (AF-EMDR) training through the Parnell Institute to address trauma. She also had the pleasure of working with Dr. Claudia Black, an innovative clinician whose work involves examining the impact of substance use and sex addiction on the family. While at Gentle Path, Heidi worked as both a primary and family therapist. She also led lectures on many topics related to sex addiction and family dynamics. She has also provided outpatient services for two different agencies in Bellevue, Washington. Heidi also was a past staff member as an adjunct instructor at Eastern Washington University teaching in their Addictions Studies program.
